FREE Marketing Consultancy Available Thanks to New Grant
A new 'Shropshire Sustainable Tourism Business Grant' scheme has been launched to help Shropshire tourism businesses continue to attract visitors.
The scheme, funded through Advantage West Midlands and administered by Shropshire Council, is hoped to improve the long term sustainability of the tourism industry in the county by improving the performance of tourism businesses and raising the quality of facilities. Eligible businesses will be able to apply for capital grants of up to £10,000 and revenue grants of up to £2,000.
How can Marketing Shropshire Help?
Shropshire Tourism has secured a special rate for our marketing review service with Shropshire Council. Those who are eligible for the Shropshire Sustainable Tourism Business Grants can receive £500 worth of marketing consultancy from Shropshire Tourism free of charge, as part of the £2000 revenue grant.
The Marketing Consultancy service includes the following:
- A one to one review of your current market position and marketing activity, including web presence, promotional literature, advertising campaigns, membership of promotional organisations and transactional ability. This review is made up of two stages – a desktop review and an on-site visit to discuss your target markets and overall objectives.
- A final written report with our assessment and recommendations, prepared for you to consider and act on if you wish.
In addition to this, the revenue grant allows an additional £1500 worth of funding towards the implementation of any recommendations made in the written report, such as web design or print production.
Who is eligible?
- Accommodation businesses, including pubs
- Visitor attractions
- Conference and meetings businesses that attract visitors to stay
- Tourism activity providers (e.g. cycle hire, equestrian, walking)
- Food and drink producers – where grant is to increase tourism potential
- Craft/artisan businesses – where grant is to increase tourism potential
In addition, these businesses must have been trading for more than a year, must be within the eligible Rural Regeneration Zone area (see map in leaflet below) and/or employ fewer than 250 staff.
